Overview
Dimplex Spark 28 Built in Fire
The Dimplex Spark 28 Built-In Fire is a sleek, modern inset electric fire designed to be built neatly into a wall, fireplace opening, or media wall for a clean, flush finish. It creates an instant focal point with a realistic flame-effect display that delivers the cosy look of a real fire—without the mess, fumes, or maintenance. Because it’s electric, there’s no chimney or gas connection required, making it a smart option for contemporary homes, renovations, apartments, and rooms where a traditional fireplace isn’t practical.
As well as ambience, the Spark 28 provides on-demand, controllable warmth at the touch of a button, with settings that let you tailor comfort to the room and the season. You can typically enjoy the flame effect with or without heat, so it works year-round—atmosphere in warmer months, heat when you need it. With no fuel to store and no ash or soot to clean, it’s a low-hassle way to add both style and everyday practicality to your living space.

Optiflame - The world's most popular flame effect
Optiflame is our original flame effect, continually refined and improved since it revolutionised the fires market in 1988, and found in homes and hearths across the globe. Using the art of illusion the flame effect is created from a reflecting surface, producing a series of seemingly random flickers that mimic the real thing to produce a convincing 2D flame effect that adds depth and comfort to any space.
